The Philippines Shared Services and BPO Modernization Guidebook

There’s no stopping the growth of the Philippines IT-BPO sector. The industry is expected to generate $25 billion in revenue by the end of 2016 and an incredible $55 billion by 2020. This will represent 11 per cent of national GDP, making it the biggest contributor to the Philippines’ gross domestic product!

In this article, we looked at:

  • Introduction: The Unstoppable Philippines Shared Services Sector
  • Organizational Development: Shaping the Future of Your Business
  • What are Finance Pioneers doing to Drive Value (and What’s Working?)
  • The New Priority for Asia’s HR Leaders: HR Analytics
  • Robotic Process Automation: Five Key Trends

Navigating The Transition From Low-Cost Labour To Analytics & Robotics Services: The Philippines is “100% equipped” to take on the new challenge say domestic experts

Year after year, the Philippines has retained its top position for service delivery centres based on its cultural affinity to the US, its highly educated workforce, and its customer oriented service mentality, along with generous tax incentives provided by the government. The country still ranks top in many customer satisfaction surveys, measured in terms of cost as well as performance.

In this market report, Barbara Hodge, Global Editor, SSON, looks at how, given the importance of people in delivering service, no matter the technology, the strong desire to improve that is inherent to Filipino culture, is still one of the most significant factors in the country’s continuously high performance ratings.

Why “operationalizing RPA” is the right solution for SSOs in the Philippines

The Philippines ranks as one of the most popular locations for shared services and BPO centers. And yet, its continued inclusion on this list may be under threat. The traditional service delivery model was built on low-cost FTEs and linguistic capability. But, in today’s world, low-cost FTEs are no longer as compelling as they once were.

So with plenty of the low hanging fruit already taken, what are organisations like Lufthansa, ANZ, and Baker McKenzie planning to do now?

What's Next For Shared Services In The Philippines?

The Philippines is already well placed compared to its regional neighbors in terms of the evolution of its Shared Services market. Given the multiple decade’s track record in providing reliable, cost-effective services to multinationals, it is not surprising then to see that the Philippines has the highest proportion of multifunctional centers across the region – presenting a comparatively more mature Shared Services market.

In this article, SSON looks at how the Philippines is reinventing itself as a data-driven, knowledge oriented, services partner.
